Programs Intern

The internship at TYF offers students and recent graduates a unique and invaluable resume building work experience and networking opportunities.

Our interns work directly with the CEO, giving them the opportunity to learn about nonprofit management best practices and philanthropic strategy. They also get to interact with other TYF leadership team members, and participate in events featuring career development experts and successful senior professionals from a range of sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

The Program Intern supports our operations and mentorship programs, completing tasks including:

  • Assist with event planning and organization.
  • Assist with event-specific outreach and promotion to corporate partners, sponsors, mentors, mentees and other participants.
  • Support relationship building with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and help maintain / enhance TYF’s social media presence.
  • Provide administrative support when needed (data entry, filing, mass mailings, etc.)

Job Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate students, graduate students or recent graduates.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week (flexible structure, provide on-site support for events).
  • Highly organized, attention to details, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the willingness to learn other tools. Graphic design ability is a plus.

Compensation: Unpaid. TYF would provide job referrals if demonstrating great performance.

Marketing and Communications Intern

Job Responsibilities:

The Marketing and Communications Intern supports our operations and social media strategy, completing tasks including:

  • Draft posts and messaging for TYF’s English social media.
  • Manage English social media marketing.
  • Perform project-specific marketing and communications outreach.
  • Monitor progress and help identify marketing and communication trends.
  • Provide administrative support when needed (data entry, filing, mass mailings, etc.)

Job Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate students, graduate students or recent graduates.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week (flexible structure, can work remotely).
  • Excellent English written communication skills are a must.
  • Demonstrate use and comfort navigating innovative and trend-setting sites and tools, including blogs, social networks, video / photo editing and sharing, graphic design, etc.
