Shenghua Hu is the co-founder and Chairman of Silvan Group, a New York-based hedge fund investing in short-term real estate loans. Before creating Silvan, Shenghua had more than 20 years of career at Citigroup, where he held various senior leadership and management positions in North America and Asia. At various points he ran its North America fixed income derivative trading, Asia-Pacific region rates trading, and the financial markets business in China. He also served as derivatives trading head at Bear Stearns and HSBC USA.

Shenghua earned a master’s degree in Statistics from Stanford University, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and International Journalism from Fudan University.
